Accessiblity for those with Disabilities

Without question, Internet and computer technology has revolutionized our world. Many people, however, just assume that the Internet and computers are the exclusive realm of those with vision and are literate. What most people don't realize is how much it is revolutionizing the world for those with disabilities -- especially the blind or visually impaired.

Indeed, the impact computers and the Internet have may be felt greatest by those who are disabled, as these things are opening their world up in a way that previous generations could have never dreamed of. Technologies that exist to enable the disabled to use computers and access the Internet include dynamic Braille displays, screen reading software, and screen magnification software.

In an effort to promote accessibility, we have compiled the following list of resources, vendors, and products that make the Internet and computers more accessible to those with disabilities. Please note, as we cannot test these products, we cannot specifically endorse or vouch for the following products and vendors, however, we felt that this list would be useful.
